For eons war has ravaged the planet of Cybertron. Autobots and Decepticons, embroiled in brutal and vicious combat, a conflict that seemingly would see no end, or so some believed. In the present era the war has ended and the Autobots… have lost. The Decepticons rise triumphant and have claimed their prize, their world a dying husk. Now they are left to salvage the pieces.
Having established their desired military empire, the Decepticons have begun to focus their efforts on expansion and colonization. To this end several siege units have been organized, sent out across the cosmos in search of new worlds to conquer and pillage. Such is the case of one unit commanded by Thunderwing that has plotted a course towards an uncharted planetary system far from home. Complications arose when what else should be found but a rag-tag crew of Autobots. Naturally, a chase ensued.
While attempting to escape, the Autobots’ spacecraft was damaged, engines hit, and itself caught in the gravity of a nearby, small, blue planet. Following a rocky descent through its atmosphere, its crew was able to guide the shuttle to land roughly on a patch of dirt called Phoenix, Arizona. As luck would have it, there unexpected pit stop saw a response by an outfit of the United States Armed Forces, whom quickly sent in a patrol unit to investigate. While nowhere near an ideal first contact scenario, the Autobots found themselves at the mercy of the human military and surrendered peaceably. However, a Decepticon hunting party investigating the damage shuttle and engaging with ground forces meant for an opportunity for the beleaguered ‘Bots to intervene and offer their aide in the form of a jointed counter-attack.
Following the scuffle, a meeting between factions was arranged. With the apparent threat of a Decepticon war party, and an unknown objective, the Autobots’ warnings made for a stirring case of a possible invasion all the more likely. After some negotiations with military personnel, government bureaucrats, special operations managers and giant robots, an alliance was struck. In conjunction with the Autobot forces now on Earth, a new security agency was established in Arizona that would report to National Security Council on matters related to Decepticon activities and cooperate covertly with the Armed Forces against the invaders.You can read more and weigh in on this proposal in this thread.
